Humanity in Action – Summer Internships in Europe or US!
Humanity in Action is interested in recruiting Hunter College students and recent graduates for this program which offers an exceptional experience for students interested in the study and exploration of the social and political roots of discrimination. Among the activities that comprise the Humanity in Action program is the paid summer program which involves seminars and study and travel in the United States or Europe. Fellows are selected on the basis of leadership potential, academic achievement, interest in minority issues in Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland and the United States and concern for human rights. The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship Program
The Charles B. Rangel Program seeks applicants who are interested in promoting positive change in the world as Foreign Service Officers for the U.S. Department of State. The fellowship is open to undergraduate seniors and recent graduates who will begin two-year masters programs in the fall of 2011.
The program will select twenty Rangel Fellows who will receive up to $90,000 in benefits over two years to fund tuition, mandatory fees, and living expenses for completion of two-year masters degrees, as well as summer internships to promote professional development. Fellows may use the fellowship to fund graduate studies of international affairs or a related subject such as public administration, business administration or public policy at U.S. universities.
Applicants must be US citizens who plan to enter graduate school in fall 2011. The program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. Deadline: January 21, 2011.

The Jeannette K. Watson Summer Fellowship: An exceptional opportunity for first year and sophomore students!
The Program gives promising and accomplished undergraduates the possibility of on-the-job learning that will provide opportunities for leadership and personal growth. The Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship offers students the opportunity for paid internships of $5,000- $6,000 for three consecutive summers. Interns will explore work in nonprofit organizations, government service, private enterprise and a summer abroad. The internship will be developed in consultation with the Fellow in terms of the Fellow’s growing interests. To be eligible, by the time of application, you must be a second semester freshman or sophomore. Candidates must be no older than 25 years old as of March l, 2011 and must be a US citizen or “green card” holder. Interested students will submit the application to Hunter’s campus representative, Myrna Fader, Office of Student Services. The campus deadline is February 1, 2011.

Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship – For Sophomores and Juniors!
Interested in Working for the Betterment of the Environment?
The Morris K. Udall Foundation offers scholarships to students who are sophomores and juniors and who have the commitment and potential to make significant contributions to the environment and related fields. This national scholarship program provides a scholarship of up to $5,000 and offers the opportunity to participate in a special scholar orientation weekend to meet and work with a national network of environmental leaders.

Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program: Are You Considering Applying to Graduate School?
The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program is currently seeking Hunter students with a 3.0 or higher grade point average and at least 45 credits.
The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program prepares academically promising undergraduate students, who have an interest in attending graduate school by providing support in many areas. Accepted students attend six-week summer research opportunity programs and participate in an array of activities throughout the year.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation workshops are also offered at various points. The program offers assistance with graduate application preparation, faculty mentoring, and research presentation opportunities at various conferences. Program participants visit graduate schools and meet admissions officials at numerous college campuses. Additionally, McNair Scholars receive a stipend up to $2,800 for meeting specific milestones and program goals.
Students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the office before submission of the application.
